The lasting imprint of Jakayla’s time with her Aunt Cynthia helped her realize the importance of finding a solution for a struggle that her Aunt and many other visually impaired individuals face. Jakayla has since identified a solution that allows for people with visual impairments the opportunity to identify clothing colors while offering employment and educational tools. Since the company's beginning, Feel the Color has since won countless awards and has brought awareness and advocacy for those with visual impairments and the company is actively striving towards creating a more accessible community in Fort Worth and across the globe.
At Feel the Color, we believe in creating a world where the visually impaired can do all. This means not letting a disability stops us, no matter how big or small. Feel the Color is making an impassioned plea for the fashion industry to become more inclusive. There are countless of people who are visually impaired across The United States who want to shop for clothing without having to ask someone the color or even by even identifying the color of the clothing garments that are sitting in their own closets. All these peices of fashion matter.
